CommunityLed

We are dedicated facilitators empowering communities with an evidence-based and trauma-informed approach to disaster preparedness and recovery.

Our workshops are engaging, positive, and energising, providing vital knowledge that helps communities navigate the challenges posed by climate change and extreme weather events.

Community Informed Practice

Be it extreme weather events, changing work patterns, technology-driven isolation, or pandemics, there has never been a more important time for us to come together and develop place-based solutions.

Meet the Team

Founders Paula Paananen and Christine Black have many years experience, working and training in a variety of contexts.

They have educated and trained a diverse collection of communities across Australia and internationally.

Why CommunityLed?

We recognise the value of a connected community and the importance of fostering local relationships.

All the research and stories tell us that well-connected communities are better prepared to endure and recover faster from extreme events.

But engaging and working with ‘community’ can be hard.

We can help you to:

  • Design and implement preparedness and capacity-building projects
  • Engage the right people
  • Facilitate successful outcome-focused community gatherings
  • Harness conflict and disagreement as a tool for community growth
  • Understand the threats and opportunities in the adaptation space
