Why Wattle?

Our logo celebrates Australian Wattles.

Wattle are known as pioneer plants.

Their seed can remain viable for years or decades in the soil seed bank and often are triggered to sprout by disturbance.

When conditions are right, they reproduce and grow quickly, enabling them to take advantage of the resources in a challenging environment.

Through their interactions, pioneer species build a simple initial community that gradually gives way to new plants, animals, and other organisms, changing the structure of the biological community to a strong, resilient ecosystem.

CommunityLed supports capacity builders to build strong resilience communities.
